English strawberries

Fragrant and juicy, there’s something very special about English strawberries. For more than a decade we’ve been getting ours from Jeanette and John Gore-Phillips, who grow their plants in glasshouses at Hesketh Bank. In the height of summer they’re the classic mid-tennis snack, but they’re also a simple topping for fruit tarts and pavlovas, and lovely hidden in the middle of a Victoria sandwich.

In Season

Seasonal food is food at its best: delicious, plentiful, and special. As the year progresses, the changing seasons bring treats like Yorkshire forced rhubarb, new season lamb and Rocha pears. Our buyers understand food and farming, and because they buy in small quantities and know our suppliers well, they enjoy being able to bring seasonal treats into our stores as soon as they're ready to eat.
